A live experiment in power · by Lucy Hutchings Hunt

The Manifesto
This isn't just a diary. It's a live experiment.
Every week, and sometimes more frequently when I have something particularly important to say, I share the gloriously messy reality of what happens when a forty-something-year-old, well-educated, middle-class, school-gates single mother and lifelong people-pleaser decides to train as a dominatrix in search of something far bigger than sex or money.
This is a story about power. About pleasure. About parenting. About politics. About privilege. About trauma, and getting free from it. And about discovering what it means to truly be alive, before we die.
It is about the strange dance between submission and domination that seems to underpin everything from the bedroom to the boardroom: our romantic and sexual relationships, our workplaces, our governments, and even the stories we tell ourselves. Call it Sexualpolitik: the study of how power moves between us, and what happens when we finally learn its rules.
I'm not writing because I have the answers. I'm writing because I'm curious enough to ask the questions out loud.
Welcome to my dungeon. I'm so glad you're here.

Not about whips. About why you flinch before you speak in meetings.
